Welcome to the Lab

The Dimply Project is our ongoing mission to reimagine, refine, and renew everyday essentials — not to change them for the sake of it but to make them meaningfully better. Sometimes that means big improvements. Sometimes it’s a simple change that just makes sense.

Here in the Lab, we build every Project openly, with your input at the center. Your feedback shapes what we create today and what we explore next.

ALL ABOUT PROJECT 1

Project 1 has technically been “in the making” since 2020 — not because it took that long to design, but because... well life just got in the way. But now, after all this time, we finally get to share it with you.

The story actually goes back to 2015. Like many people, we started with the classic green Korean viscose exfoliating cloth — then the yellow one, then the pink one. They worked well, and honestly, we loved them. But keeping the glove on our hands while exfoliating? A struggle. It made the whole process feel awkward and, as a result, we exfoliated less than we wanted to.

So we tried the gloves with elastic bands. Better. Secure. But then we were buying two types: a gentler one for the face, and a rougher one for the body — and the cost stacked up quickly.

One day, mid-complaint to my parents, they said something so simple… “Why don’t you make a glove with two different sides?”

Two textures. One glove. Complete Care for the Body.

Simple. Genius. Obvious in hindsight.

And that moment is where Project 1 — and Dimply — truly began.

We didn’t just send the idea to a manufacturer and wait. We tested fabrics, experimented with materials, stitched together our own early prototypes (terribly, but proudly), and learned what worked by feeling it with our own hands.

Below are some of the photos from that journey — the beginning, the mess, the experiments, and the evolution that brought us here.

Photos of Project 1

We had a lot more photos of the many rounds we did but can't find them. We will update this when I do.

Where can we improve?

We think the first round of our glove turned out beautifully! The one thing we’re still refining is the packaging. Our current tube is fully custom-designed for the glove and definitely feels premium — but the downside is that it costs significantly more to ship compared to a beautiful sealed bag for example.

Because of this, we’ve had to pass a portion of those shipping costs on to customers, which isn’t something we love doing. We chose the premium packaging because we felt it best represented the quality of the glove, but we want to make sure it’s the right choice for you too.

If you have thoughts or preferences, we’d genuinely love to hear them. Please reach out and share your feedback with us through the Contact page above!
